Sunrock Guesthouse

When we are looking for a place in Johannesburg, safety was one of the primary concerns. We were picked up from the airport, dropped off at the hotel, and delivered back to the airport. Safety was never an issue. We were served a delicious dinner, slept in comfortable bed in a clean room and dealt with nice people the whole time. We awoke the next morning, had a very nice breakfast of omelettes, coffee, toast, homemade banana muffins and juice. The omelettes were freshly made by a chef at an omelette station. We were there just one night, but can say that it was well worth the price.

Everything from pick-up to drop-off at the airport was amazing!! Warm welcome on arrival and there was such a warm, relaxed, comfortable and homely feel - it was as if they'd taken the best aspects from hotels, BnB, , Backpackers, Guesthouses and combined them. The ambience was amazing with gentle music in the background, the decor was phenomenal, the Spa that was open till 9pm, dinner was great, guests mingling but also 'nooks' to sit alone or with your friends, a lending/swop library, pool table, bar, a huge warm pool with loungers, stunning gardens, good service and even a gym! I was given a HUGE bedroom with a HUGE bathroom too. I wish I had come up a few days earlier to spend some extra time there but at least I know for next time and I WILL BE BACK!

Do yourself a favour and book this place. It was simply fantastic, you will not be disappointed. the pictures does not do it justice, it's even nicer! A real oasis. I needed a place to stay overnight near to the airport, and decided to go with Sunrock. I usually stay at the airport hotels, but Sunrock is my new place to stay when I need to be near the airport. The staff: Lovely friendly people and totally on the ball. Everything was run efficiently and professionally. Excellent communication online when I needed to get in touch with someone about whatever. I was very impressed. The location: The neighbourhood is not the best, but once you get behind the gates of Sunrock, it's like you're in a cool resort. It's very close to the airport, which is why I booked here, so it was perfect for that. The room: I loved my room. Bright, fresh, comfortable It had enough space for me (solo traveller), not sure if it would be too comfy for a couple though.(because of the size and the bathroom/toilet is not private) but there are bigger rooms. I just took a standard as I was alone. The room was also airy and very clean. There was even a memory foam pillow which I have never seen at any other place I have stayed before. Big bottle of water in the room, tea, coffee etc. Nice sized shower and a desk which I used. Very convenient. Facilities: EXCELLENT! The restaurant/ bar/ pool area area is gorgeous. I was blown away at how nice it was. In fact the whole property is just amazing. I made use of the spa facilities TWICE! The lady who works there (I forgot here name, sorry :-( ) is a gem. Do yourself a favour and get a treatment with her, you will not regret it. The shuttle service was also on point and an excellent perk of staying at Sunrock. Food: So good!! Dinner was lovely, a really nice variety that will satisfy anyone (I think). I had seconds. Breakfast was equally impressive. VARIETY! I loved it. I will definitely stay here again.

Inviting & rather large guesthouse, a charming oasis with pool & beautiful garden area, peaceful & relaxing atmosphere…very warm & friendly welcome at reception, providing help for whatsoever…large breakfast selection, all freshly prepared…complimentary shuttle service from/to airport, inquiry in advance about my flight and arrival time, very reliable and punctual...

We booked Sunrock Guesthouse for one of our employees returning from an overseas contract. Communication with the establishment was prompt and helpful throughout the process. Arriving late in the evening, he appreciated the seamless airport shuttle service and the clear communication provided, which made the transfer smooth and stress-free. The following morning, he was efficiently transported to the airport for his early flight home. He spoke very highly of the guesthouse, complimenting both the facilities and the quality and comfort of the room.
